Get ready for the the 19th annual Red Putter Pro Tournament on August 7. Golfers may enter the Red Putter Pro Tournament for a fee of $30 and must pre-qualify with a score under par on the course. This just isn’t mini golf, we are talking a very competitive tournament with first place winning $2,000, a trophy and the Red Jacket! Second place, $500 and a trophy, Third Place, $100 and a trophy.

August 14 and 15, checkout the beautiful boats on the Sturgeon Bay waterfront. All sorts of boats will be on display ranging from sailboats, fiberglass classics to mahogany runabouts, and canoes, kayaks.
Registered boaters showcase their boats for the weekend and compete for awards and ribbons. Boats are displayed on the Maritime Museum grounds, along the waterfront and the lawn. It’s a good chance to see the tallest building in Door County too! Located at the Maritime Museum.
The Festival also has a very competitive Sikaflex Build-A-Boat Challenge. Watch as 2-person teams work with limited materials on Saturday to craft a one-of-a-kind boat that will float during the “sea trials” on Sunday…fingers crossed!
Festival hours are 10am-5pm Saturday and 10am-4pm Sunday, plus food and drinks. The Classic & Wooden Boat Festival is a great time for all ages on Sturgeon Bay’s west waterfront.
On a side note, I experience a wooden boat show in Madison. It was a great experience, except for the hail! 🙁

A few days ago I had some friends visiting from Madison and we stopped in the PEARL WINE COTTAGE in Ephraim. It is a charming cottage with wonderful wines and small plates. It was truly an unexpected place!
The Pearl is housed in an early-1900s cottage owned by Manique and Lars. Lars’ parents, owned the Hanseatic Art Gallery next door. Manique and Lars returned to Lars’ hometown of Ephraim in 2018 after raising their two sons in Portland, Oregon where Lars owned a photography business and Manique was a wine lead for Providore Fine Foods. While in Portland, Manique study of wine earning her Level 2 and Level 3 awards in Wine and Spirits from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust which is headquartered in London. You can say, she knows her wines!
I hope you enjoy the Pearl as much as I did. It is located at 3058 Church Street in Ephraim. Worth the stop!

The Peninsula’s 2500 acres of cherry orchards are ready to be picked. It’s a fun experience for anyone.

The interesting thing, cherry trees in Door County were native to the county. They were planted on 80 acres in the late 1800s as an experiment. The rest is history!
